Well I got myself a new(ish) Laptop
A friend of mine sold me a IBM thinkpad T60
1.83 GHz - Centrino Duo, a 60GB hard drive, one gig of ram, fingerprint reader, DVD/CDRW drive.
Its similar specs to my old Asus W3000 machine, stronger in some areas weaker in others, but it cost a lot less.

Was installed with Fedora when I got it, got a 5 hour battery life, weighs in at well under 2KG with battery and is compact and tough.
the only bad point is that it looks like a brick, but that can be good for touring around the rougher parts of the world.

Its a bit strange going back to normal 1024x768 after widescreen and the graphics card isnt as powerfull as my asus but its perfect for what I want it for.
I will be using it mainly for Linux development and its nice to have a cheap laptop for touring.
I will have to let you know more after I have had a chance to try it out in the field (so to speak)

looks quite good seems to be around the same size as my laptop but more powerful :D.
1024x768 sucks :( it all i can get on the laptop as well, get used to it after a while though.

T60 is a old model!  :o
We had several of those a few years back. Very reliable piece of hardware.

Well I paid under 2 ton. ;)

Ah...then it's a reasonable price for a second hand laptop.
My company's laptop is still working, only the battery is faulty.
