So what exactly is deeplinking.
Is a link not a link, what are the differences?

Deeplinking is actually linking to an inner page of a site.
EG
This is a deeplink
http://darksat.x47.net/topic/1067.0.html


Normally when people are doing artificial link building they just link to the main page of the site, and when people are linking naturally they deeplink.
So its fairly easy for google to spot artificial link building if a site has almost no deeplinks.

It is supposed to be better because it provides some benefit to both the main domain and it's inner links (that is the webpage it pointing to).
