I have to missing a lot of things, their isn't just blogs forums and directorys is their.

Article submissions.

An essential dirctory is DMOZ as its used as the basis for hundreds of others.
however takes forever to get listed.
Im sure we have a directory list here somewhere.

DMOZ sucks, I never got on their directory and I signed up like 2 years ago.
I think everyone has given up on the directory!

It really depends on the catagory, editor. its worth submitting to, but submit & forget is the best way.
then in a few months if your lucky you might get listed, if your not it might take a couple of years, or not at all.
However its a chance I am willing to take, if I get in its gold dust.
it only takes a few minutes.

Cannot be that good can it?

Remember its the basis for a load of directories out there, from the google directory to small clone directories.
Submit, and in a couple of years you could have a load of extra backlinks from DMOS based directories.
