I was surfing the net doing my daily SEO research when I came upon this website that guaranteed 1st placement on 40 major search engines, including Google. Not only that, they said it is FREE! I immediately said SCAM! They said that they don't use any blackhat techniques and you will never get banned. Does anyone know if there is some truth to this statement

But seriously, it won't take a lot of effort to get to 1st place with smart titles and tags for little known keyphrases.

only 3 search engines that actually matter, they'll rank you on 40 tiny ones nobody uses.

It cant be true. No one can guarantee top position in any search unless they are the owners of the search engine. Search engine ALGO's are changing time to time. So rank of a site me change time to time. So how can someone guarantee top position. Its smells like a scam.

First, let me say that no one, I mean no one, can guarantee a particular ranking for a particular search in a particular time. If they do, they're lying. That being said, there are ways to understand the competition within Google's index for a particular keyword search. One of the first ways is to understand how many web pages are competing for that keyword. This information is easily obtained from a Google search engine result page.
