hi lucy,
The first thing you will need is exposure, to computers in general,
then you need a sound knowledge of networking.
and you have to be dedicated, really dedicated and patient.
if you feel you meet all these, look into these courses.

Lucy,

If you are just starting out, you should being with a basic security overview and certification.  I recommend CompTIA Security+.  Taking CEH or CISSP before laying this foundation is a waste of time and money.  Go to:  http://www.kmbl.us/Education_resources.htm and there are some good free security training overview materials that will give you some ideas.
