Are you talking about maintaining a web forum?
Anyway, all forums start small. And yes, it is very very difficult to administrate and maintain a small forum and get it up to size. I had tried with 2 different forums and both failed.

Switch off all eye candy would speed up WinXP.
The problem now is of course, Vista.

Looks like your network port is faulty. I think it could very likely be the mainboard as nowadays the network ports are integrated to the mainboards. But replace the cpu is a bit weird.

5  Hardware, Software and Security / Software / Re: Googles Browser on: September 11, 2008, 09:35:12 am
The rendering speed is quite fast. Feels a lot like Opera in my opinion.
And now since Google has it's own browser, will it ditch support for Firefox?

I seldom buy stuff online unless it is from a reputable company or business, especially if it is overseas based.

I just hope for 2 things - less problem and less bugs. However, I am keeping my fingers cross that the next operating system will be as stable as WinXP SP2.
9  Hardware, Software and Security / Hardware / Re: Improving watercooling on: August 24, 2008, 06:46:25 pm
If I am not wrong, the coolant temp is the temperature of the coolant (water) from your water cooling kit. It should defintiely be lower than that of your core temps and it is dependent on where (in the cooling kit) the temperature is being measured.

From what I read, I don;t think that he meant that.
More like having the WinXP CD in and then being able to boot up. But even that's weird.
12  Hardware, Software and Security / Software / Re: eBoostr - Readyboost for windows XP on: August 11, 2008, 10:15:35 pm
Yup, you are correct. Big waste.I was just using a comparison.
13  Hardware, Software and Security / Hardware / Re: Disk Boot Error after installing second harddrive improperly on: August 10, 2008, 06:30:40 pm
What do you mean by throwing in a WinXP CD? You mean booting up from the CD or it boots frm your HDD with the WinXP CD in?
14  Hardware, Software and Security / Software / Re: Tweaking the BIOS on: August 10, 2008, 06:28:09 pm
It's called overclocking.
I am sure that most motherboard manuals comes with some information regarding overclocking. You should refer to your manual.

I would think that a better solution would be to store frequently accessed information in the RAM like the OS rather than using a thumb drive as a cache. I am sure that a 4GB Ram stick should be enough for WinXP.
