theres a problem with using pdfs on web sites that we have discovered at work.
When someone loads a pdf from the serps, they don't get to see the web site that hosts it. Its caused a lot of problems as people were coming to one of our elibrary sites directly to a technical paper abstract, and then not realising you can actually buy the full paper from the web site.
we not have text copies of the abstracts in the systems database that are displayed within a site template etc.
