The best way to get out of it is by saying "I thought I knew you from somewhere, my bad."

This is why you have to do something in public now, like read the paper, read a book or look at your laptop, If i don't have any of them I read sides of bottles or sides of coffee cups.

You get used to it after a while , reflex action "whut you lookin' at" "thought I knew you from somewhere, my bad"
