accepting credit card details involves a lot of legal stuff and money.
You need:
A payment Service Provider
A Merchant account.
You can use paypal but its not advisable.
I usually reccommend worldpay for payment gateways but they are one of the more expensive companies about. You don't need a secure sever unless you are taking the payments using your own system and capturing credit card details yourself. If you do that then you open up a whole can of legal responsibilities etc.
