Can't say I know how to help you.
All I can think of is if you are redirecting home directories to the server then you could use something like deepfreeze.

Would you not be able to snap in a system log in the MMC from remote computers, thats really all I can think off but then again I'm not sure if that watches group policies but its possible their is one their which will help you out their normally is.
