Well Generally you can ask for a raise if you want, or the more standard procedure is to look for a better job after about a year, especially if you dont get the raise you want when you ask. Just make sure that the new job is garunteed and you can handle the role since you dont want to quit a job you have managed to keep for over a year and move into a company where you might not get on as well. If you switch jobs every year or two you should be looking to add a few thousand onto your wage every time you switch. You should also be looking to move out and expand when you get bored of your current role and are not learning anymore. However given the current market situation I would wait a while before quitting a job because the markets not great at the moment.
