ROR Sitemaps

I have been looking at ROR sitemaps recently, its an XML sitemap format that looks fairly cool.
Your ROR sitemap is placed on your webserver in a location like
http://www.your-website-name.com/ror.xml
and search engines can then check this default location for your sitemap, like they do for robots.txt files.

I have it. But ironically, I don't really understand the point of RoR. Since both Yahoo and Google has their own version of sitemaps, what's the point of having this RoR sitemap?

And a RoR sitemap is much bigger than a Google sitemap.

Thats exactly the point though, you shouldnt need to have different sitemaps for every search engine.
You dont have different robots.txt files for different search engines, why should XML sitemaps be any different.
I like the concept, and I think it will catch on for other search engines.
