Is it worth the purchase?
looked at the site and it costs something stupid like $78 which is £44.
Does this mean if i buy it i can put everything on say a DVD or something and when i have a problem say I can't start Windows i can just pop it in and it will reinstall everything back to my last backup?

Depends, if you only have a 4.7GB hard drive, sure. 

Ghost is normally used from Hard drive to hard drive, not sure how well it handles DVDs

Actually I think Nortan can support DVDs but wont work well if you have more than 4.7GB
you may want to try Acronis True Image instead.

yeah I see what you mean I have 60gb's used across 2 hdd's, which is a lot of DVD's :p so I take it when I create a image it will create another file which is around 60gb's?

Genie-Soft Backup Manager is also good, it supports splitting files over multiple DVDs.
I used it a couple of years ago and it backed up over 7 gigs in under 30 min.
I assume the newer ones are even more powerful.
