This is a bit of a loaded question. You have to ask yourself first this. Is a critical site or personal site?

If it is a critical Site this is my order of importance:
1. Support - I mean real 24.7 support with techs who know what they are doing.
2. Box Specs and ratio of clients per box
3. Backbone and redundancy of the network we  are on.

(Note with a critical website I would never host on a shared account, I would run my own server like I do now with Server Intellect and not worry about someone taking my resources. Plus I would have full admin access to the box and allow me to tweak the server as need. Don't mess with a shared account get your own server even if it is a VPS.)

If its personal:
1. Price
2. Support
3. Box Specs

My two cents
