Buying a old computer ipaq

So I've got my eyes on a compaq ipaq.
Its looks like a simple computer for a nice little server.

Seems to have brilliant potential for a simple server, I was thinking of the nslu2 for a file server but the ipaq has twice the potential!

£15 no HDD or RAM .
Not bad ay.

off ebay , their was one buy now for around £30 inc P&P.
But I took a risk and tried one which was on auction .

Haven't had a chance to play with it much, but from what I can see its really a nice computer.

I love the cooling, all their is, is 1 fan cooling it all from the PSU (90w) this actually sucks are in (hmmm) and pushes it out the top where the top is some kind of grill looking thing.

Luckely I borrowed someones compaq cd drive though from a laptop and I will be installing ubuntu server edition.

But a dislike I have about it well most old compaq machines is its so hard to access anything and clean the darn thing!

I just installed Ubuntu on it not server one as its a pain to connect to the internet dunno who it wont but it wont .
so yeah hopfully soon i will be able to print off feedreader in the morning without doing anything and have it storing all my files.
