How to Protect form Netsupport internet Monitoring

Hi guyz,

I am not sure whether this an appropriate question for this forum or not but anyways I will expect some guidelines from you guys.

We have installed a software name Netsupport DNA. It is a monitoirng software and its client is installed on the machines and service run on the user machine. The software collects the following information form the machine

1. Applications Running and their Time Duration

2. Hardware Changes

3.Software Changes

4. Internet Usage-------------> Sites visited

I am just interseted in the last point how we can hide the information from the Netsupport about the Internet sites we have visited. As far as I think it will be reading the infromation from the machine log about the URL's but where is that place and how can that be protected i mean if it a log file from where the netsupport is getting information about the site visited then I can define access right on that folder or file.

Can anyone help me out??

All systems are Windows XP professional SP2.

You can help me about informaiton that where URL are being stored or tracked by the windows when we access any website.

Haven't heard of netsupport.
But if your saying that when you log the information it is uploaded to netsupport I would block them if your running the clients through a proxy, or if not block it in the clients host files.

You could find the location its uploading it upto by running something simple like wireshark and watching the internet protocalls.

Personally I don't see why you would need to implement netsupport if your group policies are done correctly then you shouldn't really need to worry about all this stuff.
Watching internet usage can be done with simple tools from the server cutting down the load from the clients.

It’s basically inventory management software. Especially it might be useful in for h/w monitoring and changes. Similarly it’s also useful in finding out the applications installed on the user machines, the usage of these applications and internet usage as well.

Right now to protect myself what I have done is that I have blocked its service by the personal firewall. But I am not comfortable with this solution. I guess I need to find some other solution.

That is actually a really good tool, looking at it now.
It alerts you if a client puts in a CD or anything like that brilliant, yet scary.

Although I am the ownership of this tool will be given to me soon but still I do not like its capability of catching the internet sites and usage. For now I have used to the firewall but I want to make it fool so that any time I can provide false information about the internet site I am looking to.

OperaTor for dodgy stuff, and Firefox for the legit stuff.
If you want to be really smart you should run VMWare or Virtual PC and get it to boot from a linux live ISO and run your browser through that.
