IE7
« on: November 14, 2006, 12:38:49 pm »

Had a quick play with IE7 recently.
while its not rocking my world and not really a anything Opera and Firefox have not done already its got fairly good CSS support.
renders CSS very similar to firefox.
Anyone else had any thoughts on IE7?

I was re-editing a site for IE7 and it rendered exactly the same as firefox.
Also liked the interface and tabs, but Opera has had them for years.
and I expect a load of security holes will start to come out for IE7 fairly soon.

Shocked maybe IE7 are finally catching up (at last), i was reading their blog a while ago they had banners and everything advertising for IE7 so they must be scared!
IE7 will have security holes as usual, firefox recently has been proven to be a mess :p

Loads of adverts on yahoo for IE7.
Not doing anything Opera has not been doing since opera8 though.
and still has less features.
but at least its an improvement.

Your forgetting tho, a web browser isn't about the features. Its primary purpose is to correctly view web pages. I have no interest in plugins, toolbars or features offered by any web browser.

I like my features, that plus Opera is still the most secure and fastest browser out there.
So you dont like Popup Blockers? Tabbed Browsing, Download managers, etc

These are fairly important features IMHO.

i just got IE7 today and I am impresed. the tabs feature is bette rthan firefox and opera in my opinon and I like the fact that I can have the google toolbar, the live search box and ask.com all in one browser.

the change in fonts and clear type is abit weird...but i like it.
