Just goto your local borders/waterstones and have a look around until something grabs your attention. Computer books arnt' really designed to be read front to back. Their quite often tedious.

I always read up on my IT stuff online. IT books generally have to much filler. The exeption are a few hacking books I have read. For other good reading material, check here. http://darksat.x47.net/topic/56.0.html

my favorite book is stephen kings "misery". its a fantasstic little book, 100x better than the movie. he makes you like the main charcter like a friend and then has an unstable maniac tears him to pieces bit by bit...

Misery is on my list now looks interesting. I went and brought "Instant Confidence - Paul Mckenna" looked like it could be a helpful book so put it on the top of my list , mainly because it was the cheapest .

Hacking Exposed 1st to 3rd edition is good and very well written, technical but consice with no fluff. 4th edition is just repeating stuff in the 1st three editions and the CDs full of apps are replaced by a DVD with vid tutorials so I didnt like that one, but 1-3rd edition are V good.
One of the few computer / hacking books I would recommend buying.
