Use IP address
This is the simplest way to bypass domain name based access restrictions. Instead of using the domain name such as deviantart.com use the IP address. To get the IP address use a whois tool.

Use the Google cache
If you are not worried about whether the content is fresh on a site, Google cache is quick and easy. Do a Google search for the site name and then click on the cached link below the search results.

Use an Anonymizer Website
To do this you access a third party site which in turn bounces your request to the required server. Some of them provide URL encryption also.
getwall.com is one example of such a service.

Use a Proxy Server.
There are loads of proxy servers out there, and proxy lists as well.
One is http://www.publicproxyservers.com/

Use an Online Translation Tool
Like Babelfish from altavista or google translate.
Its not the best way of doing it but if your fluent in more than one language it works fine.

Use a Distributed Proxy
Tor is one example of a distributed proxy
http://tor.eff.org/

Set up your own proxy server

PHPProxy
http://whitefyre.com/poxy/

Privoproxy
http://www.privoxy.org/
http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/quickstart.html

or use Apache.

When I want to find out the IP i ping the url e.g. ping google.com. then i get the IP from that.

Google cache brilliant invention but no good for chat things like forums etc.

Anonymizer sites way too slow.

Online translator tools Sad I need to learn another language Tongue

Distributed proxy never heard of one before any good?

Distributed proxies are fairly good.
Regular proxies are ok as well.

Is there any way to get a proxi which shows up as being a legit IP address, or at least shows that it's coming from England?

There's a site I wish to join but they ban people if they find out they're using proxies but I don't want then to know my IP address.

Make sure you use the high anonymity ones.
Or if you have a wifi card, you could try tapping into a neighbours wifi.

I can reach two signals from home but both are password protected.

I'm tempted to drive around with a laptop till I can find one that isn't but it's just too bloody cold at the moment.

I'm not bothered. I don't mind a bit of naughtyness on the net.

By that I mean pissing off admin from a certain other site. That's as far as my idea of being bad goes.  Grin
