Just purchased a sitewide link from a small PR3 site (footer).
I was wondering how good is sitewides in terms of gaining PR and improving SERPs?

Been reading a lot in the forums, but I got both good and negative opinions on sitewides. So I chose one which site is small.

Sitewide links are not worth much for Google.
and a PR3 is very low.
PR is logarithmic as well, so a PR4 is worth 8-10 times a PR3, you really want at least a PR3 and preferably a PR4 if you are paying for links.
How much did you spend?

Just US$10.
Nevermind, it's an experiment. And all of the pages are around PR1.

V7n is offering US$20 for one in-content link in a PR3 or above blog. Proper anchor text and all.
Do you think it is worth it?

Yahoo and Google give more value to sitewides than Google does. They can still help with your rankings in Google not as much. Footer links are not that good because they are not in content and are the last thing to be seen. Whether or not it was worth it depends on how much you paid and for how long. Blog posts are much more usefull links because they are in content. Not only is this worth more they allow your anchor text to be surrounded by keyword rich text.
