There is a lot of hype on the internet today about Firefox, however the newest Opera 9 web browser is slowly gaining popularity among elite computer users. Faster than Firefox, with more features, better security, more advanced options and a better rendering engine, Opera is slowly replacing Firefox as the browser of choice among tech savvy net users. http://www.opera.com

I think a lot of people like firefox because it looks a little more like IE.

Hardly the best reason, Opera has been around longer and has a lot more features. check out the widgets. http://widgets.opera.com/Opera is Firefox done properly. Its faster, more secure, has a better rendering engine and has more features.

I think opera is a promising browser, but it does my head in with certain css incompatibility issues.

It seems to have problems with layer positioning in certain situations Its growing on me tho I love the fact that when you change the text size it resizes the entire page to compensate

I havn't seen the voice command feature, but then again I don't tend to use extras. I literally use the keyboard for everything. I only use the mouse for gaming

IE do not follow the W3C rules, thats one reason that they suck. Firefox and Opera rule.

90% of Internet users never heard of Opera. And from my webstats, hardly 3% of my visitors are opera users. Too bad.

Does that matter, it renders pages just the same as firefox, it just makes other things easier in life like checking emails or chatting on IRC.

Well, when I design my sites, it's important to know which browser are they using.

True, but its easy to test in IE & Firefox, and if you use Opera your covering that extra 3% as well.

I saw before a cross-browser can mimic the abilities of different browsers. Can't remember the name of that browser. I think it is very useful for web designers.
