Are sitewide links worth it?

Yahoo and Google give more value to sitewides than Google does. They can still help with your rankings in Google not as much. Footer links are not that good because they are not in content and are the last thing to be seen. Whether or not it was worth it depends on how much you paid and for how long. Blog posts are much more usefull links because they are in content. Not only is this worth more they allow your anchor text to be surrounded by keyword rich text.
