This is a website I'm helping to develop, i would like to know if making it accept credit cards or anything like that would be easy, I'm considering going for a secure website so they deal with the details and everything. But currently i don't have a clue what the best thing to do would be, the main thing I'm worried about is running it on a website host which i do not know is secure enough. accepting credit card details involves a lot of legal stuff and money.
You need:
A payment Service Provider
A Merchant account.
You can use paypal but its not advisable.
I usually reccommend worldpay for payment gateways but they are one of the more expensive companies about. You don't need a secure sever unless you are taking the payments using your own system and capturing credit card details yourself. If you do that then you open up a whole can of legal responsibilities etc.

Also your host should support SSH
Do you have enough traffic comming in to require online payment?

it doesnt support ssh i tried lol, their isnt any traffic coming in haven't started advertising yet. I guess i will try what n2k said then  |
