Podcasts and Radios
Hak5.org – This is a good video podcast not really a fixed subject varies from software to hardware hacking.
Labrats – Not so much complete hacking podcast but really good to learn about computer hardware and software
TheBroken – This seems to be a dead podcast but the old episodes you can get a lot from, well worth watching.
DiggNation – You will learn a lot from digg, which makes diggnation a really good podcast to watch as they talk about all the top stories.
BinRev Radio – Not recording as many these days but it is a good radio as it talks about computer hacking which is what we want.

Websites
Darksat.x47.net – The best forum and the only forum.
Darknet.org.uk – Does have a lot of news, but also tells you about new security tools.
MSDN.com – What MS? Yeah MSDN have there own hacker blog now, worth watching.
Google – Even Google have a blog focusing on security and helping people in their quest to stay secure.

Trial and Error
Damn Vulnerable Linux – This is a linux distribution made to be vulnerable, the idea is to train people in IT security by teaching you how to hack it.
HackThisSite – If you have spare time try these missions, each one will teach you something new, and it can be very fun.
RootHack.org – Very realistic, the idea is you have a team and hack the other teams, just be careful you don’t get the ISP thinking your really hacking.

Magazines
Phrack - Apparently its open to anyone who wants to publish something (according to wikipedia) been around since 85 though and it really is the best magazine in my opinion.
2600 - If you want to pay for a magazine go for it this is what you want.

if it was that easy everyone would be doing it.
however its not as hard to learn as you may think.
You could be at a fairly good level within a year or so.

It is easy if you have the tools, anyone can hack with the right tools. (script kiddies)

However thats more opertunistic hacks.
Script kiddies tend to find one tool and look for people who they can exploit, a real hacker picks a target and finds a hole for that system/person.

Their really good at exploiting 127.0.0.1 .

Only the new ones are that stupid.
Some skiddies have a fair ammount of tools/bots and can cause a lot of damage against a system that isnt properly secured/protected.

PS for those who dont know 127.0.0.1 is a localhost loopback (aka your own local IP number)
