I've never used any linux things before i would like to know if i burn it on a cd will it offer to partition my hdd so it can go on a seperate partition?
i dont want it messing about with my windows part

Not sure about FreeBSD
Some linux distros have an inbuilt partition manager but you might be better to use a windows partition manager.
also back up your essential files before partitioning a drive.

okie dokie i'll try it then, i take it i wont be able to connect it to the web, im using a use 802.11g wireless usb adapter going to a windows 2000 server and from what i've heard theirs alot of problems with linux to windows.

is the adapter usable with linux, has it got linux drivers.
Check the CD and if you dont find, just do a google search for linux and your USB wireless adapter make..
some linux enthusiast has probably written some drivers for at least a few linux distros.

few hardware manufacturers write drivers for linux.  be carful with partitions.  Your better off sticking in a seperate hard drive rather than risking your windows partition. Red Hat boot manager messed mine up big time.

i originaly thought of doing that, just dont have enough money to try it yet, dont even know whats happened to all my ide hard drives
