I like Photoshop and Illustrator myself, but I also thing Paint Shop Pro is good value, and Gimp is ok as well.

tried paint shop pro didn't really like it though but photoshop was my favourite cant beat it Smiley

I was using PSP for years until I got hold of PS.  I havn't gone back since but I still use PSP for red eye removal.

I liek serif paint its fee, it can be a bit limited at times but nothing you can't fix using windows paint.

Serif do ok DTPsoftware but I wouldnt use the graphics software.
