call up your hosting company who are you with? I like to keep my domains with another company like have my hosting on godaddy and domains with puddomains, that way the domains are safe and I can switch hosting when ever i want.
It is trouble when you pick a idiotic hosting company, a lot of them now are run by kids and will easily get into trouble with hackers for their lust to learn.
It should be hard to recover your domain just call them and ask to transfer it to somewhere.
did you use the cpanel backup method, if so it should have absolutely everything on it, just find another hosting company with cpanel.

This has to be some form of hole in your sites security, check for the latest update to the content management system you are using. If its the most up to date one I would switch to a new hosting company. Its either the CMS or your server software.
Edit, just did a reverse IP check on your server Its your hosting company, check this out. 35thfreepress.com Im guessing a load of sites on that server are hacked.

Check archive.org for a copy of your site, or the google cache. Recover as much as you can, and rebuild the rest. Use the opertunity to learn, improve your new sites and build a bigger and better site in future. And remember to backup everything twice.
