Yeah he would want to consider sandboxing his internet capable apps as well.

I think read only still executes the program, so not much use there. It was the autorun thing when you click on the drive.
They have a solution for that. It was a registry hack and the autorun is disabled, so the virus couldn't run. The next step was to find all the infected file. It told him to delete all exe fils as well as acrhived ones. Luckily, it worked.

Disabling the auto run is the first thing I do when installing windows Grin.
I've saved my computer many'a times disabling autorun.
