I have yet to find a system that cant be taken apart, any form of DRM can be defeated, even by recording from a speaker/line out into a line in will do it.

I don't want to download it and be part of their stats, I refuse to help. If its like joost then I can imagine its not so bad, but if their adverts in every song then it can be very bad .

I read that somewhere. I'm hoping they sue their asses off and have to close down.
But from a business point of view they are being extreemly stubborn, everyone still thinks that CD's are the way. But they also can loose out big time if it goes wrong, their is a lot on the line and personally I don't think their software is up to scratch, again I think p2p is still a odd road to go down.

The only way to make money with music is to make music CDS with bundled Movies/DVD. You get the extra features you wont get with an MP3 download and the file size of the movies would take to long to download, so people will buy the CD to get high quality music and save 12 hours of downloading, then if they want to stick the MP3s on the PC they can and keep the CD to watch the movies. Electronic songs are way to easy to copy and always will be, payment will always be optional. And if your a band the best way to make music is through concerts. Adverts in music is a really crappy way to go.

Actually I think P2P will die out naturally, the fact is their isn't enough support for P2P users. If you notice Virgin media are offering 50mb downloads soon, and people will consider P2P too slow. Also if you notice a lot of these connections you find uploading limits are very low, personally I can upload at 400kbps on good days and I think this guy has a 4mbps line! So its obvious their playing a big part in this, if they could they would take that down to 200kbps but thats too obvious .
