I dont think it matters, both are seperate antennas, although they were probably designed to work together they will work independantly.
I would use the one with the connector hole on it.

a antenna uses both negative connections to be exact, but yeah I was just using it as a example.
Just hook up the U.FL connector to it the outside soldered on one the the inside soldered on the other.

Bit obvious I've never even worked with U.FL but I believe the outside is one connection and the in is another.

Yeah.. I have an old router, so I took the antenna from it.. and also I made some changes to it.. Here is a video and pictures about how can you hack your own antenna..
