Hi guys.. I would like to add an external antenna to a PCMCIA card.. more specific a D-Link(DWL-G630).. this is a picture of the card..  and this is inside the card..  Can anyone can help me? Any answer would be really nice.. |

Antennas are a very compicated things, they can require a lot of work.
I don't think its as easy of soldering on a antenna.
Keep us updated if you find any info out about it, I would love to hear some more about the subject.

I find a post about it. but I'm not really sure about.. It says that just need a 4 inches U.FL to SMA female and connected to this little connector  |

Hi Juan
Do you see those 2 green corners on the right of your card.
those things embedded into the green plastic are 2 antennas.
all you should have to do is melt one of the corners untill you can get at the corner of the antenna and then solder your extra antenna on to that.
Edit, if its made from thermosetting plastic though it might not melt very well.
it might be more effective to just buy a card with a dedicated ariel, or you could try jacking into that ariel port (pic2) but there is a slightly greater chance of messing up that way, although it may have better condictivity into the reciever.

I thought that, would it not be better to drill a small hole though the circuit antennas, then solder in a U.FL?
Its all I was going to do.

Darksat says melting the corner untill you uncover some antenna thats embedded, and then solder your own antenna onto it.
But for simplicity I say drill a small hole in it and then solder the antenna in their.
