USB .... AC adapter

Hi guys..

Yesturday I bought a cellphone.. more specific a Slider Sonic ....

the only thing is that it comes with the charger and the phone.. it doesn't come with a usb cable.. so I'm think to buy a usb cable.. but I said can I cut the AC adapter and add an USB cable.. so This is my question can I do that or not..??

Thats sounds like a bad idea.
Why would you want a USB cable attached to your adapter.

USB cables cannot handle the current, especially if you plan on running AC through it!

Just make sure you never use cables that are too small to hold the current, you will find it can cause electronic fires from cables over heating, I found this out during lower school while shorting a D battery with a very thin cable it got very hot and I believe it started turning brown.

What's the voltage and the maximum current from your AC adaptor?
Could work. USB is 5V and maximum current is 400mA I think.
