Squeeze Pages???

Hi,

I just had a customer ask me to design a squeeze page for them. I've never heard of it before!

Apparently it's a way of collecting someone's name/email and then presenting a webpage personalized to them. Kind of dircet-marketing and email marketing stuff but on the web.

Have any of you heard about this before and SEO pos/cons? How'd you make one? a script???

Cool, can also come under web2.0 the idea of building the site around the visitor/member.
You can do some basic things like build it around cookies not a good idea, or just do some basic arrays and dump the settings in a mySQL database.

So is this guy talking about a login system, like passwords and that or just a name and email login?

yeah. it's basically a form that collects information and then personalizes the page afterwards to you. could be just your name or it could be several different factors I suppose.

Yeah a load of places do that, you dont want to have the search engines finding the custom pages, you want a default page for the search engines and custom pages for the users, how are you delivering the content/tracking/collecting user info?
