Google's went black for earth hour today. I wonder if it'll be permanent.

apparently there's a whole thinking that a black-screen saves slightly more power than a white screen so a webapge that's accessed billions of times like google could make a significant contribution to savign energy if it were black.

Google says that's actually incorrect as no matter what colour you display the screen uses the same power.

Im making my own custom black google search page now, will use it for Darksat linux.

To be honest I like the usual google better. the sky is blue, trees are grren, google's basically a plain white page with a logo and some color lettering.
