Tracking Forum users?

So I've linked a transparent image file to a forum, linking to a subdomain on one of my domains.

But I'm unsure on how to locate this specific user, as my logs will be full of multiple users.

I know I can seporate them by country and also browser, but theirs still a lot left over.
Main problem is when the user comes online it is more or less prime time, when everone is online.

I don't really want to expose this user to my domain directly.

edit: unless I fine a old post which I can still edit and then link him to that which means its still within the forum.

What forum are you targeting?
Have you referrer tracking in your logs, if so just make a post, PM him the link and look for a referrer from the private messages URL.
