Who do you use for hosting and do you think they are any good?
Who would you recommend and how much would you pay for a decent host?

4uhosting.co.uk Love them to bits their so good very little down time, i cant even remember the last time i had down time, their support is amazing very fast and it comes with cpanel which i don't use very often but it comes with script installers the whole lot its brill!!

I pay around £50 a year for 3 addon domains and can't remember the rest.

I use bluehost.com. They are cheap, reliable and quick to respond to my support tickets.

I use aPlus.net in USA. They offer good services and attentive staff. It may be not cheap.
I have just changed my hostig plan to "PRO" to obtain an unique IP adress and it costs $15/month. In this way I try to protect myself from bad neighbours with the same shared IP as mine.
Is it worth thing? I heard Googel likes domains with an unique IP.

Google gives a slight prefernece to unique IPs but its nothing worth worrying about.
