USB Pen Drive booting

Is their much point if you want to use say Knoppix on many pc's, is it really worth the trouble to boot of your USB flash drive instead of a regular CD.
I take it not all PC's like you booting from USB?

Depends on if you want to save stuff.
its Harder to boot from USB and its cheaper to just burn a distro onto CD but if you want to save stuff then a USB key is the way to go.

So how can I upgrade or add programs and then burn another copy?
Would I have to install it too my hdd and then just burn it to a cd but I can't see it being that easy.

You would have to install Linux, Add your apps, then burn a new CD from inside Linux.
Or you could run it Via USB and keep all your apps there.
