Lets just say that any system can be taken down without to much work. Ack Storms, Smurf Attacks, Hitting the Nodes around your network, there are a hundred different ways to disable a system.

lol i'm aware of that but you still need to secure your web sites against as much of it as possible, thus knowing how to ethically hack helps protect you.

since the start of the whole mp3 craze (which has so far changed the world dramatically) p2p has been at its heart. the benifits are just too great t ignore I'm afraid...

Yeah but its better to be on a good network or using a proper client. anyway MP3s are "generally" ok but EXEs, Zips, etc are not a good idea.

I stand firm on my beliefs that P2P is a nasty bit of work in its current shape and form.

I actually like P2P technology. needs to work on security but its no less a security hole than a web browser.

i love p2p software, bittorrent is the best i think i use it to download things like hak5 shows well used to not sure if they started using it again, but its so much faster to download it that was because your downloading from all different people, unlike http or ftp downloads its 1 person.
I would say the only reason most people use things like kazzaa is do download music which i dont agree with, so let them get the viruses.

The best thing about P2P - Linux distros!

You can generally download linux distros directly from the web. if your worried about a download cutting out half, Opera has a built in Download manager.

GoZilla used to be my download manager but with faster broadband connections i've found their use to be redundant.
