Yeah it happens that way, regional sites show up more in regional searches. also even google.com is supplied from a dozen different datacenters. they tweak the algo and test it on a few different datacentres then merge the tweaks that work best into the main algo (like genetic engineering) so even results from google.com can be different for different people.

Generally thse algos are fairly similar but they will tweek one paramiter on a live data centre (or perhaps more) and see how it affects the serps.

I would say the Science of SEO is an art form. It really takes a feel for SEO to get the best rankings.

Slow and steady wins the race. as your links get older they will get more power. although new links get a temporary freshness boost.

Hey I was wondering, how will this aged link work? I mean, if a link is old, it gains in strength ?

Lets say 0-3months link has 40% power drops to 25% from 3-6 goes back up to 40% from 6-9months 9-12 gives it 70% 12-15 gives it 85% and at 18 months it has full power.
the figures are slightly off, (I cant remember the exact percentages, but thats the way it works)

You get a fresh content boost then it drops, then the link gains strength over time.
